Changelog
- The pre-temple opening of the game has been completely redone. Pick between bespoke new premade choices or a custom character builder, meet a new character, and meet a more tolerable Sam. Female Sam only; male Sam has been completely removed.
- The temple has gotten minor updates, making it possible to skip some text, taking out some lower-quality stuff, and adding a bit more.
- Sarah and Ashley temple scenes now have their own CGs! Minor updates to the scenes as well.
- The game now has a LOT more backgrounds; temple is unchanged but the forest and home scenes, camp, and Badon now have proper art.
- Amnelis sprite courtesy of Coubalt. Knight-Commander Selendis art courtesy of jfc!
- Amnelis theme and Sofra normal/battle themes all by Ubercrow! The temple boss also has a new theme, courtesy of The Mad Duck
- 4 entirely new weapons - Greataxe, Dual Daggers, Mana Blade, Longbow, each with unique playstyles. Almost every old weapon has been heavily reworked as well! Earth magic got a major revamp too. About 300 new abilities and ~100-150 reworked ones in total.
- A new set of no-requirement channels, so non-mages have good access to buffs, and new Reaction system which lets you reflexively block, counterattack, or evade attacks for a certain duration or use count.
- Significant improvements to much of the progress menu UI, showing much more info about abilities
- Around 15-20 ish traits, some for existing weapons, some for new/magic
- New Metatron 12-affection scene, covering the aftermath of her first lewd. More to come~
- Camp scenes now have normal/faded icons to show if they've been watched or not.
As always, there may be more updates as bugs are reported, please let me know if you find anything!
After this chonky opening/mechanics update, I'm going to focus HARD on the writing/plot aspects for several updates - look forwards to a lot more Deepwoods, character arcs, monster girls, and progression coming soon!

So I did the lewd scene with Metatron and afterward I had the Image of her, naked, left on the screen. Wouldn't go away. Now I'm not complaining because who doesn't want to see Metatron standing around naked all the time, amiright?
She's blocking everything else with her gorgeousness tho :P
So I closed down the game and then restarted it. Loaded up my game. Still there. I Went through the night time lewd with Sarah, Meta was standing there (Naked) watching while Sarah and Astaroth engaged in a cowgirl lewd...
Gonna try going on an adventure next... see if she stop following me around all nude and tempting.
I did the Affection 12 convo and the after image went away. Part of me is a sad panda...
Also the Affection 12 conversation was very wholesome, with just a little naughty thrown in by Astaroth.
LOL. I enjoyed reading that play-by-play, good times. Are you on 22b or later? I remember that was an issue on b, but I think I fixed it in c or d. I'll double-check anyway, and for future reference, revisiting the character will almost always fix the issue!
I like to think of it as Metatron just being lonely, tho

So far I love the new Character creation customization! Being able to design my character from scratch is wonderful as is the chance to equip armour and my preferred primary and secondary weapons. Before I had to wait until reaching camp for the first time to put armour on!
I also noticed the new art at the introduction and new approach to introducing Astaroth and Sam. I loved it.
I just figured out how to custom build a Spear/Air magic build from Character creation! So happy...
Later I'll try to make my Shield Hero build (Shield and Earth magic Combo)...
Nice, glad you enjoyed that! The character gen stuff took a lot longer than I thought, despite mostly using the existing progress menu pieces lol. But getting it all to flow together, adding the element picker, and all the tooltips/back and forth was... oof.
And yeah, the previous opening really made Sam look like a complete dumbass instead of a doofus...
Well I think all your hard work was worth, cos I love it. I might even have to retry my 'All the Magic ever!' build to see what I can do there.
Glad to hear it! Magic will be getting more love over the next few updates, though I'll be prioritizing writing to catch up with my plans haha.
Amnelis is an interesting surprise. Comes off sorta naïve and very girly, almost Clueless level of those if you are familiar with that movie.

One thing though: Just after Amnelis is introduced there is a single choice scenario: 'I'm in'. Why offer a single option? Not really a choice when there's only one option, of course I'm going to click it. Why not skip this illusion of a choice and just have Astaroth say : 'I'm in.' ?
Yep! Amnelis is pretty naive, though deceptively intelligent/clever for how goofy and at times clueless she can be. I think I might have gone harder into the goodness than I initially intended, she's also pretty insightful, but that shows up a bit more after the temple.

The choice was intentional, having it be an option is trying to portray the MC's mindset, putting the player into it directly. Knowing what to do but making the adventurous decision nonetheless. It didn't have to be a pseudo-choice, but I thought it'd be interesting to make the player complicit in it and see if that helped them insert into his head.
Unfortunately that choice didn't work for me. Just annoyed me. But then I have seen a lot of it in other games and VNs.
I can very much understand that other people may not share my opinion though.

I love the new art for the Aurion household too. And I think the new forest/glade area? So far I'm seeing some very good quality art in general! I'm starting to get really excited about what Selendis is going to look like!
Ok so I got to see Selendis.
First I will say, very beautiful art. I can definitely see both feminine and militant aspects to her. I like the scar of her cheek, tells me she has seen battle.
I also like that it's not boob armour, I see it as Seledis saying she is a warrior first and foremost.
BUT (Cos there's always a but) I would definitely call this fantasy armour. Worthy of Anime or the RPG 'Exalted' if you are familiar with it.
By that I mean it looks bulky and heavy in places (The hip and groin area mainly) and has some superfluous decoration that's likely to catch and get stuck on stuff.
(The funny shoulder plate decorations. Could you imagine trying to duck under a branch as you move, getting caught on that thingy and being pulled out of balance? I can).
Also I choose to imagine that her helm is nearby... I don't think she would go into a battle without her helmet.
Her hair is very very long though... Where does it go when she puts on a helm? Does it get caught on branches? Do enemies grab her hair and pull her off balance?

You've got a few instances in which you have used gender neutral terms for Sam (They/Them). Formerly I thought it was because Sam could be male or female. Now that Sam is always female, shouldn't it be She/Her?
Sometimes you've even got mixed references in the same sentence or paragraph. She and then they/them just a couple words later.
I found an error for you. At the Aurion house, just after mum arrives with the fish for dinner.
'Aside from raising an eyebrow at that last name, she says nothing more for a few moments as she divests herself of her gear and inspect the sack for leaks.'
Inspect should be inspects.
