Oh yes about that when i reset the game to see the changes that part was fine. But on the part when i needed to put my stat "Time to get swole" before fighting the abyss thingy when clicking that option the game keeps crashing so i just fight without stat and skill like a champ apart Meta-chan did the job.
Maybe is just my tablet but is not really a big deal for me.

Couple of things, does Metatron auto-revive? I was fighting the hob shaman and his cronies and Metatron would go done to zilch (or lower) and at the end of the round, she's got 5 hp. Either the spell I cast on her caused it (which still wouldn't make sense) or Metatron can't be defeated, YAY! Was about the only was I was able to beat the shaman too...
Regarding Maya, I found "head pat?" option BEYOND hilarious, more so because Metatron was my partner. Seeing Metatron petting Maya and Maya's response was wonderful!
One question which may influence things down the road. I keep my stats fairly balanced, Strength and Magic will be higher but it's like Strength and Magic are 11 or 12, and the rest are around 6 or 7. How important are each of the stats? Strength and magic are obvious, but am I better suited to having strength and magic the focus, or is more balanced a better way to go? Some of that was because I needed 5 insight to learn some pieces of magic, but now I'm wondering if I should rearrange things a bit...
So normally, an ally that goes to 0 hp stays there until healed, and can't act until they get above 0hp. Regen was erroneously kicking in and essentially reviving her every turn. Fixed now, thanks for the report!
Maya patpats are the way and the truth, and Metatron is rapidly becoming team big sis lmao.
Your primary stat/stats should always be capped for easiest progression, I usually just set them to auto-grow. The rest... kinda depends on what you're doing. 10 focus is enough for 1 turn cooldown reduction, or 10 insight lets you ignore most armor/resistance. 5-10 vitality also gives access to some great traits.
You can respec as needed, it's a bit cheat-y but the important thing is to have fun.
Glitch report, maybe this is fixed and it doesn't actually affect anything, but trying to defeat the slavers in the third area before Badon resulted in Metatron's pic showing in the background. She didn't join the bad guys, just her picture was there, and didn't go away until I talked to her at camp.
One thing I do like about returning to earlier areas is you might run across a couple of teammates. I've seen Sarah and Ashley, and Sam and Ashley so far, and it's neat seeing others training too.

Yeah, I'd like to add a few more characters interacting or at least showing up during exploration. It's fun, flavorful, and adds a sense of life to things. Could even have 'em stick around for a surprise battle or something; I don't want to make the game 3+ character parties, but in some situations it'd make sense to have it happen.
This is more oversight than anything, but I was fighting the wolf alpha and his two buddies. It was down to just the alpha, but it was still showing wolf b (who was already defeated) was still having poison damage...
I was a bit shocked at how easily the hob shaman and his two friends beat me, guessing "level 13" is the minimum because I'm at level 12 and he slaughtered me and Celica! Is there an ideal partner or did RNG just go against me again? (I think RNG hates me for the most part)
Question on being attuned to magic so I can learn Aether magic. Magic is at 11 but it shows as being unable to learn it. Is Attuned a skill or trait learned, or is there some other thing I'm not getting because if it says "every 10 of magic" and I don't see if anywhere, and I missing something?

I've heard the poison thing, not sure why yet but I'll look into it. Probably just order of doing poisons vs clearing dead enemies from list, though it's possible the poison is killing the enemy? idk.
The hob shaman and co are level 18, enemies in the Expanse range from 13 to 16 otherwise. It's a bit of a jump from Outskirts, tho it's 9-13. idk. I feel like the level req could probably do a better job of explaining you can enter at 13 but should probably be 16+ to beat it?
You can learn one school of magic for every point of attunement (shown in the right-click stats menu). If you started with magic that takes up your first slot, or learned one elsewhere?
On the levels, I was def under leveled for the hobs - the problems I had with the lone hob should have clued in that I wouldn't make it. As far as explaining "level expected to beat it" goes, I would wait and see how many are struggling with the hobs. Might be a good idea, but barring boss fight I did OK at level 12, so I'm not sure it's needed yet.
Regarding the attunement, I started with wind magic, so that would have been the initial school. I was able to learn water, fire, and nether without any issues, but Aether said I needed to be attuned. Does that mean that all of those are in the same school? I would assume wind fire water earth are all just "school of elemental magic", would nether count for that too?
Having gotten Metatron at high affection, it's amazing at seeing her transform. Wondering if I get Aspraia to high affection will she transform similarity? Seeing Metatron smile was really nice, and it's interesting seeing how she's evolving with both Ashley and Sarah. Still think if there's another race war it'll be because Ashley pranked Metatron too many times. I'm not sure who has less self-perservation, Sam or Ashley. Also, and I can't stress this enough, seeing all the friends evolve has been really wonderful. Finding out WHY Sam and Celica dislike each other, Celica's motivations in general, Metatron slowly understanding emotions and her attachment to Sarah and MAYBE Ashley, it is really well done. Both trust and affection dialogues are really fun to read!
Attunement should block you off of the base elements too. The checks for those might not be working right, idk, I'll check.
The character growth is definitely one of my favorite aspects of the game, glad to hear you were enjoying it! Metatron has gone through a lot of growth already, and everyone has their goals and dreams. I'm really looking forwards to explaining more of them, their pasts and futures, and especially how they all interact. Not enough of that yet.

Having gotten more affection and trust out of Metatron, Sarah, and Ashley I've really amazed at how detailed and thorough the affection and trust things are. Ashley had no problem talking about aspects but Sarah was... wow, weird to see her so mad about it. Ashley being Compassion and Greed seems odd but does explain a few things! It's also interesting seeing Metatron warming up to Sarah, almost like a big sister might. Rather suspect Ashley and Metatron will never really get along though...
One thing I was curious on, when you first start out going to Badon, Ashley is willing to do sex battle training, but that option is not available for Sarah Is it because Ashley is just more open about it, will Sarah eventually be able to sex battle the the player, will they tag team the MC... (no! Bad musical! Don't let fantasy get in the way!) ANYWAY, what's the story on why Sarah starts off not being able to sex battle? I'm just curious.
Hey, glad you're enjoying the character interactions! They're honestly my favorite part of the game to work on. I can't wait to do more between the girls as well haha, Sarah and Metatron in particular.
Ashley and Metatron... well, you might enjoy the next update if you're interested in that.
As for sex battles - the honest answer is that they're coded very poorly, take a lot of work, and (imo) all feel too similar. I have a plan to fix that in the next few months, but until then I don't want to add any more on the current, mediocre system.
Rest assured that Sarah will get a proper one, making full use of her various... attributes, when that gets fixed.

The versions I use in the game are compressed, but you can find them in the game/audio folder in the meantime! Celica and Maya's themes are named as such until such time as I decide their 'official' names.

Now, I love reading but damn does training magic have SO much of it I found it hard to read things after a while and sadly had to put the game down. This not to say the reading is bad as I love it and it has made me laugh quite a bit. The only advice I'd give is to try to make the unique character encounters a bit less challenging I got two shot by the girl at the bridge.

Also I'd like to ask if the slots of magic also count towards any progression of magic like going from one rank in fire to another, I ask because I used all of mine to learn all the magic and I don't know if it's the type of thing where you can be jack of all trades but not very good at any of them type of deal.
Wind and Aether magic can get pretty wordy, since they're very technical. Most of the others aren't as bad. Glad to hear you enjoyed the writing overall!
Right now there's only one rank of each magic, but there will be more ranks in the future, and they'll also take attunement slots. As a mage, it should be fine to pick up one rank of most, but you probably won't be able to supermax every element in the long term. Definitely won't have the trait points for it anyways haha.

I just wish I wouldn't be just a NEET, so I could contribute to great games like this. Because damn sure I have a lot of free time, I may as well try to learn how to draw some artwork for this game, but honestly I can promise nothing.
Anyway, I suppose there should be at least some pepole who are interested in contributing free artwork for this game. Maybe it would be good to add some notice to some game menu, that you are looking for free artists, just in case you accept any third-party artwork at all. As I remember there was a scene with Sarah, that really looked like it was made by some other artist, beacuse Sarah does not have a red colored stripe in her hair on her standing images.

I am spending basically everything I get from patreon on commissions so we're slowly getting art/music sorted - a fair number of character themes are custom work now, and I'm working with a number of artists for backgrounds, character art, and CGs. Reaching out to two possibilities today actually.
Not sure what the legality of free art is, especially for commercial usage - I'll check into it. We've gotten some really nice fanart over time though, so maybe?

In case you would like to protect the third-party assets contributed into your project from being NTR-ed away by copyright lunatic trolls, then you may need to make your contributors sign a so called "CLA", that means "Contributor License Agreement", what would make it sure, that you are allowed to use the third-party assets in your project, while the contributors can also be happy about their rights. At least I suppose it works this way in case of big and important open source projects. The huge drawback of this is that the thing makes it impossible to accept stuff from random anonymous pepole on the internet, so I would advise against it.
A probably much better way to be legally cool, is to formally define in lawyerspeak some kind of general auto-applying policy on every third-party contributions you may receive. For example make a public statement of that everyone who posts into some kind of special forum topic on your discord, accepts to allow you to use their stuff under a Creative Commons license. I know that it doesn't sound very convincig this way, but for example have a look here, to see how the thing actually works anyway.
But sure you need a lawyer for this, and that would mean again, the need for more money.
So, back to the topic on money. There is a common saying in my country, which if translated to english means something like this:
"It's better to stand on two legs than one."
So, I mean that I noticed, you do not have a subscribestar account, and only rely on patreon for getting money. It's rather common amongst adult games to also accept support through https://subscribestar.adult/ , just in case patreon goes mad on them for whatever reason. I also mean that I have encountered some games which were ruined by the silly censorship of patreon, so even if I would have the money to donate, I would very much prefer to avoid giving it through patreon.
Also it would be additionalaly cool to have an alternative, for those who may not wanna subscribe, instead just give you a simple one-time donation, not only through the itch-paypal solution.

'Astaroth' is drawn from demonology. The MC is named Astaroth for a variety of reasons, some better than others, but I always thought Astaroth in demonology seemed like a surprisingly cool dude; teaches math and science, and the worst thing about him is laziness.

Different topic, so new thread! Just want to say that I appreciate that you don't assume players are going to want X path and write the X path well, but Y and Z have little content because "X is the way it's supposed to go". I know a few developers that have done this and it irritates me. Want to further the plot, you HAVE to interact with someone that you dislike or don't care for. Here, I don't see that. Using the "Sam or Sarah or Ashley before dinner?" example, each is well written, has interesting components, and are fun. (Sarah, Fashion Model!)
I also like that you portray the succubi as more than just "great at sex" and your best bud as more than just "irritating but reliable". Sarah and Ashley have hopes and dreams that are shown. The way you portray Metatron (hey!! I didn't instantly go to Megatron this time!!) as "weapon that slowly realizes she's more than that" and Sam and Celica are both shown as more than just "friends with zero backstory or motivations". I really do love this game!
Yeah, I always hated that stuff myself, but it also adds a LOT of work to have multiple meaningful branches, so I try to find a balance.
I strongly agree on the required progression though - it makes sense for a Sarah/Metatron threesome to require progress with both, but if you just want to pursue Metatron, a core scene shouldn't require you to also have 40 affection with Sarah. It annoys me when games tie them together TOO much, though I usually like most of the girls anyways.
Anyone who hates Sarah is wrong, though. Cute little dorky fashion model.
Character depth is definitely a primary goal of the game, that hopefully becomes even more clear over the camp trust/affection scenes. I'm still learning a lot of this, but I really want them to feel like people, individuals with their own problems and goals and desires; sometimes you can help them out, sometimes they just gotta figure it out themselves, and sometimes they help each other figure it out.
Megatr-sorry I mean Metatron is a lot of fun to write, as an aside. Her camp affection scenes have been a blast. Here's hoping her romance stuff (and the CG) next update goes well!

No worries on Sarah, I think she's my favorite of the initial group, maybe because she's the most "normal" of the group? I mean, the others are a best bud with no self-preservation, a succubus with almost no filter, an archangel that slowly learning to be more than just a weapon. Celica joins the next day but she's somewhat reserved at first.
I know it makes for more work to have multiple good branches, but I like the way that you've presented everything so far!
I ran into something, When you are returning to the village the first night, before Celica joins. "...giving Ashley a chance to talk probably start another war," It would make more sense in saying "probably will start another war". Small thing, but it just seems more right to me.
When do you expect to do a revamp of the earlier stuff? Some of the early banter is still quite funny! ("You got a licence for that snark?" as an example)

On the revamp... it'll depend a bit on when I can get art for a new girl. I'd say definitely this year is the goal, though. I want to have a strong plan and a clear goal before I start, so I can finish it in one update cycle rather than getting stuck on revamps forever like some games lol.

Enjoying the game greatly something I was a bit stumped on looking through the traits trying to figure out how I want to build my character, what is Kovomancy exactly?
Celica's wind training explains it in much more detail, but kovomancy is a school of Wind magic, essentially wind blades - focused on crits and bleeds, mostly scaling with a mix of Magic and Focus stats. Aeromancy is your normal wind magic, focused more on multihits and attacking first.

That sounds like my jam though, love dot builds and am greatly enjoying the game and looking forward to more. On another note, while it may be intentional because of the fact your doubling down it feels a bit weird to have weapon/archetype specific boosts from traits often be weighted the same as generic ones. example the 10% physical crit chance from precision, and 10% crit chance with daggers from lethality. Even more so when the generic crit one is available at a lower stat value. P.S. Poking around with wind now, Aerial Edge A and B descriptions seem wonky. B has the same description as base unless my sleep addled brain is missing something, and A has the same description just a bleed duration listed which is hard to value when the other 2 versions do not list duration.

Generic traits weren't very well planned out honestly, at some point I'll go back and rebalance them a bit. Some are meant to just be a bit more easily available than others though.
Aerial Edge description was bugged, one increases the duration to 9 turns (so you can just have a bleed up, since some traits/abilities get stronger vs bleeding enemies), the other inflicts a stronger bleed (for more damage. Fixed for 0.20.
UGH 12 days without internet... Sam, Ashley, don't push things without knowing what they do! (In actuality, it was a huge outage that took awhile to fix)
Replaying from the start, I noticed a few things: I forgot how much I love the writing, and as you've added more graphics, the HP for things I'm fighting disappeared. Not a big deal, but it's mildly annoying wondering how much I have left to kill things!
I'm deciding who's more zany: Ashley or Sam, it's a toss-up! Now, if I could just quit calling Metatron Megatron...

Ashley and Sam are both goofballs, though I think Sam is probably the more genuinely lighthearted of the two. Ashley is better at clapping back though.
Especially the main story addition at the church. I wont spoil it by going into much detail but I felt sad for Metatron, I admire her determination and the strength of her faith.
Sam's story additions were lovely, she was very brave.

The art for Ina was lovely but I didnt really get to see it much, hopefully we will see more of Ina and her story as more comes out.
The portraits popping up when a character spoke was surprisingly useful. Helped clarify who is saying what and also gave an impression of more emotion and attachment, its hard to look at the character further up the screen and read the dialogue at the same time!
I had a lot of fun with the church scenes, the priest and Metatron were both a lot of fun to write, as were the events. The bridge between faith and fanaticism is something I've tried to reflect in her character, felt a bit more interesting than blind zealotry.
Sam can be surprisingly mature... at times. Mostly I just want each romance to feel genuinely different, and true to the character, rather than just have the MC always go in and fix their problems.
Ina art was my bad, a victim of poor planning and a stressful release week. In retrospect I should have ensured she got more last update, but she definitely will this update. She has a ridiculous number of expressions.
Good to hear the portraits are working out too, I completely agree with that last line and have generally gotten very positive feedback on the change. Glad those hours spent fucking with images wasn't wasted haha.
I forgot to mention Celica's Wind training. It was good but splitting it up into so many different schools of thought did make it a loooonnngg read. I got impatient and skim read a lot of it.
I do really like Celica though, I feel a lot of empathy for her since I'm a rather negative person. Pessimistic.

I kinda had a feeling it might be a bit too verbose for some, it's the longest training overall at around 14k words. Celica is an angel regardless, I always enjoy writing her and her malfunctions.

My opinion on Celica is that she can be very harsh, even cruel, if you fuck with her or those few she cares about. She likes to hide behind layers of cynicism and a bad temper.
But the reason she is the way she is, its because she cares too much not because she doesn't.
Yeah, I think I agree. She can be pretty... intense, but it's from a place of strong emotion and defending things (even if they're unhealthy), rather than innate cruelty or meanness.

How do I activate the new lewd scenes with Ashley and Sarah? I know from your description that they are at evening and night, but not how to activate them. I tried looking in their conversation options.

Sarah's scene finally brought home to me that she is the Queen of BJ's. What I mean by that is that, back at the Temple, I thought it was that she felt a little uncomfortable so she settled with a BJ rather than jumping right into sex. Now I think its that she really likes BJ's.
Funny thing is, you're right on both counts haha. She was worried at first, but she also really likes you (by 8 aff) and does generally enjoy blowjobs, so it works out especially well.
Also because, let's be honest, that just sounds really cute/hot to me.
It is really cute and hawt! Anyways my final impression of this release is thats its very good. Im very satisfied and happy with it.
Not sure about the changes to combat yet, but in general I didnt notice anything that was really unbalanced. I liked the change to buff maintenance so far. I havent explored every option yet though, partly because Im not a fan of every character build. So I'll have to judge stuff as I come to it still.
In the end I think there were some pretty nasty combos as it is, before the latest changes, so Im not fussed about newly OP combos. I mean I could already freeze and then shatter a target into the ground while they cant do anything but stand there...
Things I'm really looking forward too are: 1) Finally moving the story onto the next phase! Lets get out of this damned camp already! LOL
2) A teacher for Air and Earth magic so I can try my Spear/Air Magic build! I Love Spears! And I think a Shield/Sword guy with Earth Magic would be awesome too. I love shields too!
3) More Art! You've done really well for art lately and I look forward to seeing more! No Pressure :P (I know you have to commission art and pay for it out of your own pocket, so seriously No Pressure!) I would most like to see art for Maya, the Male version of Sam (I want a bro to share bro things with) at the moment everyone but Astaroth is a chick because I like the pretty drawings...
Ok so I finished Metatron's story for this update. My impression is... DAAAAAWWWWWW!! She's adorable! I like how confused and awkward she is about the whole feelings thing, how earnest and honest she is too.
I also liked the hints of jealousy, that she doesn't really understand are jealousy and what that means. I also liked how Astaroth joked that she might be trying to keep Sarah all to herself! Might be true, y'know?
Might make for an interesting love triangle! Wait, can Angels be affected by Succubus Mojo?
Damn, Astaroth just has his pick of Waifus, doesn't he?
I'm glad you enjoyed her content! She's a cutie for sure, I was pleasantly surprised how well her mix of innocence and relative maturity came through.
Sarah/Metatron should be an... interesting... progression as well. The game as a whole isn't really meant to be harem-focused, but let's just say those two might be one of the exceptions. Unclear on how well succ magic works on angels, though.
Well it is already harem focused in the sense that many of these women are sharing the same guy. Some arent quite there yet but still seem very much interested in Astaroth even if they arent willing to share him, they have to be at least somewhat aware that he is spending nights with Sarah and Ashley. Its not like they are terribly quiet about it...
I think Im having trouble with Sarah refusing to cast Heal when in support mode. Perhaps its because she has more Buff spells to choose from, so shes caught casting them and ignoring heal?
Its a problem I've had with Celica in the past too.
Metatron doesn't seem to have the same problem.
Perhaps you might consider adding a 'Heal Only' mode?
Recently became a patreon supporter because the game has so much potential, with great setup for the plot points ahead. The writing of this game is great, with interesting lore, interesting philosophical concerns, and well fleshed out characters. This is definitely one of those games where you came for the porn, and stayed for the plot. That said, I do have minor thoughts over combat mechanics:
Vitality is a weird stat; because you get a flat 30% damage mitigation when vitality is equal to your level, its a stat you either put no points into it or max. Also, because of how the scaling works, its a stat that can only get worse over time; your 1 point into vitality at lvl 5 equates to 6% damage mitigation, but at lvl 10, your 1 point into vitality equates to 3% damage mitigation. The player doesn't get any tankier the more points invested in vitality, and instead becomes more fragile when they try to vary their stat points. Would it be possible to add flat scaling to vitality instead, so that 10 vitality at lvl 10 is the same as 10 vitality at lvl 20?

Vitality is a weird stat I confess. Originally it WAS flat (0.4% mitigation per point), but that made it utterly useless earlygame and OP lategame. A few months ago I changed it to the current version, which lets it kick in right from the start of the game and is slightly less oppressive lategame unless you put points into the tanky traits. Since you get more or less mitigation when VIT is higher/lower than level, VIT buffs and dipping into it can give a variety of mitigation rather than just the flat 30%.
I agree it's not perfect, but short of making it even more complicated I'm not sure how to keep a 10 point dip giving too many bonuses forever; vitality traits are already arguably the best in the game and a 10 point dip there is far more useful than a 10 point dip in any other stat even if the Vitality stat didn't give any passive bonuses at all. I am open to ideas though.
Hey, Im trying an Air mage (Straight caster) and I cant get past the Mauthe Dogs. They keep knocking me out. I am avoiding the main force of them and trying to use Shock and Air Cutter to take them down but they out damage me and I dont have enough HP to outlast them either. I can get past the first one, its the second one that always seems to get me.
They do like 8 damage a turn and since Im not at full HP at the start and I have to get past 2 enemies I just cant endure it! Cant kill em fast enough, cant take the damage...
Its also before the first chance I get to spend level up points, so I cant buy new abilities or stats that might get me through the fight. Is Air mage just a bad build?
I had to completely restart and make sure I had max HP at the start of the fight and even then I had to save scum it and EVEN THEN it took three or four tries to get through it. I guess Wind Magic just sucks?
Sorry to hear about the trouble. The Mauthe Doogs were intended to be fairly dangerous/elite enemies that would have been nearly impossible to handle alone, but not overly difficult due to the pulses, and give a lot of xp before the boss. They may be too difficult overall though, since you don't have much opportunity to buff up before them.
I can buff the light pulses to heal/damage more to make the Doogs less spooky at minimum. Wind magic definitely needs fleshing out, it has very few spells and fewer good ones lol. If you start with Wind Blast it'd probably be easier to go the AOE route.
Thanks for the feedback - I'm not sure if the full wind training will come next update or not, but I can definitely look to give it a bit of love in the meantime.
Im going to give Earth Magic a go and see if that makes it easier. I found Wind Magic difficult to get past the Alpha Wolf encounter at the end of the first wilderness too, I would take Sarah so that she could heal while I DPS but she would get knocked out and then i would follow her...
As best I can tell from google, that is likely to be a permissions problem - something like a guest account, sandboxing, read+write not enabled in folder, antivirus, etc. Can you save in other renpy games? Can you try the game in a different location on your drive?

I've gotten as far as "everyone starts off on the big adventure (to Badon)" and I'm wondering if there's any problem with spending like 3 weeks just building everyone's trust up and learning new stuff (and sex battles with Ashley). Think it would be a good way to get skills up and trust up now, but not sure if there's a punishment to killing too much time doing so,
Correct, I started the game without a budget so I've been relying on Patreon to pay for art. Sarah's art is actually in progress now, but may not be until 0.18 depending on how schedules work out.
There's no time constraint currently. Time tracking is mostly to give some sense of duration to the adventure, though in some future content there may be time limits (ex. 7 days after you start a quest to finish it). But in general, you can just do whatever you want.
I ran across this and thought I'd go, I LOVE the writing! I haven't gotten all that far yet - the parents were just introduced to the succubus pair - but I love that you have each of the characters be fleshed out and have personalities (well, Metatron doesn't yet, but I think I can draw that out!)
The picture for Ashley and Sarah is the same, is that intentional? I was showing Ashley around the house and it showed Sarah's pic. Not sure which of them I like the most between Sam-as-female, Ashley, or Sarah. Sarah seems to be the most grounded, Ashley is talk first, think later, and Sam is just funny with her actions and wanting to act all heroic (but messing up).

That Ashley/Sarah thing sounds like a bug, definitely should not be happening. I'll look into it and try to fix it before 0.17.
Ashley and Sarah both have a lot of existing and upcoming content that shows various sides of them, Sam will get more too, though aside from fire magic training she doesn't have a whole lot right now. They're all good girls, or at least good-ish hehe.
I think the main thing that I've gotten out of this so far is that the MC seems to go with whatever's happening and has a "let's just see how this works out" mentality. Sarah and Ashley compliment each other nicely, and Sam and Ashley together seems to be fun (based on the MC's "I did NOT want these two to meet" comment) There's also wanting to call Metatrom Megatron a bunch, blame that on seeingf Gen 1 Transformers a zillion times!
Ha ha, I've gotten a few Megatron comments. I suppose that's something I should have foreseen, kabbalism is a lot older but ironically far less well known than our favorite Decepticon!
Yeah, MC is somewhere between a self-insert and an actual character. Whether that was a mistake or not remains to be seen, but I'm trying to find a good balance.
Sarah and Ashley are a great combo, Sam and Ashley... yeah, they should probably never meet.
Amazingly well written, kudos to you. Fun without being overcomplicated in its 'extra systems', meaning stats and such. Truly appreciate your efforts, and look forward to your being able to add artwork/scenes as you have time and ability (yours or otherwise) to do so. Absolutely, I would LOVE to add art, both portraits and lewd scenes. Unfortunately, my personal art skills are... not great... and commissions are expensive and slow.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to experiment with the art thing a bit. Thankfully people have been very understanding so far about the slow introduction, but I want to smash Sarah in 2d as much as the next degenerate LOL. So now that Patreon is starting to go somewhere I'm looking into artists and can start to experiment with styles, commission costs, etc.
I appreciate the suggestions, I'm slowly improving and working on my own portrait abilities so that may end up happening as fillers over time as I commission real art. Kinda wish I'd started learning art 6 months before launch instead of 2 months after, I'd love it if I could just draw everything myself. Maybe down the road lol.

Thank you for the screenshot - I will look into it. Were you using the Support ally command? Which did you pick of Sarah/Ashley? I'll do some testing and see if I can fix it, I've had a few similar reports but I THOUGHT I had fixed it... I tried to make the AI smarter with 0.3 and brought this on myself lol.

Haha, well, there were about 3 months of development before I was willing to release at all, and I got soooo much useful feedback over February that I was able to improve greatly from the... less impressive initial showing. So many bugs to squash. >_>

Oh yes about that when i reset the game to see the changes that part was fine. But on the part when i needed to put my stat "Time to get swole" before fighting the abyss thingy when clicking that option the game keeps crashing so i just fight without stat and skill like a champ apart Meta-chan did the job.
Maybe is just my tablet but is not really a big deal for me.

Couple of things, does Metatron auto-revive? I was fighting the hob shaman and his cronies and Metatron would go done to zilch (or lower) and at the end of the round, she's got 5 hp. Either the spell I cast on her caused it (which still wouldn't make sense) or Metatron can't be defeated, YAY! Was about the only was I was able to beat the shaman too...
Regarding Maya, I found "head pat?" option BEYOND hilarious, more so because Metatron was my partner. Seeing Metatron petting Maya and Maya's response was wonderful!
One question which may influence things down the road. I keep my stats fairly balanced, Strength and Magic will be higher but it's like Strength and Magic are 11 or 12, and the rest are around 6 or 7. How important are each of the stats? Strength and magic are obvious, but am I better suited to having strength and magic the focus, or is more balanced a better way to go? Some of that was because I needed 5 insight to learn some pieces of magic, but now I'm wondering if I should rearrange things a bit...
So normally, an ally that goes to 0 hp stays there until healed, and can't act until they get above 0hp. Regen was erroneously kicking in and essentially reviving her every turn. Fixed now, thanks for the report!
Maya patpats are the way and the truth, and Metatron is rapidly becoming team big sis lmao.
Your primary stat/stats should always be capped for easiest progression, I usually just set them to auto-grow. The rest... kinda depends on what you're doing. 10 focus is enough for 1 turn cooldown reduction, or 10 insight lets you ignore most armor/resistance. 5-10 vitality also gives access to some great traits.
You can respec as needed, it's a bit cheat-y but the important thing is to have fun.
Glitch report, maybe this is fixed and it doesn't actually affect anything, but trying to defeat the slavers in the third area before Badon resulted in Metatron's pic showing in the background. She didn't join the bad guys, just her picture was there, and didn't go away until I talked to her at camp.
One thing I do like about returning to earlier areas is you might run across a couple of teammates. I've seen Sarah and Ashley, and Sam and Ashley so far, and it's neat seeing others training too.

Yeah, I'd like to add a few more characters interacting or at least showing up during exploration. It's fun, flavorful, and adds a sense of life to things. Could even have 'em stick around for a surprise battle or something; I don't want to make the game 3+ character parties, but in some situations it'd make sense to have it happen.

This is more oversight than anything, but I was fighting the wolf alpha and his two buddies. It was down to just the alpha, but it was still showing wolf b (who was already defeated) was still having poison damage...
I was a bit shocked at how easily the hob shaman and his two friends beat me, guessing "level 13" is the minimum because I'm at level 12 and he slaughtered me and Celica! Is there an ideal partner or did RNG just go against me again? (I think RNG hates me for the most part)
Question on being attuned to magic so I can learn Aether magic. Magic is at 11 but it shows as being unable to learn it. Is Attuned a skill or trait learned, or is there some other thing I'm not getting because if it says "every 10 of magic" and I don't see if anywhere, and I missing something?

I've heard the poison thing, not sure why yet but I'll look into it. Probably just order of doing poisons vs clearing dead enemies from list, though it's possible the poison is killing the enemy? idk.
The hob shaman and co are level 18, enemies in the Expanse range from 13 to 16 otherwise. It's a bit of a jump from Outskirts, tho it's 9-13. idk. I feel like the level req could probably do a better job of explaining you can enter at 13 but should probably be 16+ to beat it?
You can learn one school of magic for every point of attunement (shown in the right-click stats menu). If you started with magic that takes up your first slot, or learned one elsewhere?
On the levels, I was def under leveled for the hobs - the problems I had with the lone hob should have clued in that I wouldn't make it. As far as explaining "level expected to beat it" goes, I would wait and see how many are struggling with the hobs. Might be a good idea, but barring boss fight I did OK at level 12, so I'm not sure it's needed yet.
Regarding the attunement, I started with wind magic, so that would have been the initial school. I was able to learn water, fire, and nether without any issues, but Aether said I needed to be attuned. Does that mean that all of those are in the same school? I would assume wind fire water earth are all just "school of elemental magic", would nether count for that too?
Having gotten Metatron at high affection, it's amazing at seeing her transform. Wondering if I get Aspraia to high affection will she transform similarity? Seeing Metatron smile was really nice, and it's interesting seeing how she's evolving with both Ashley and Sarah. Still think if there's another race war it'll be because Ashley pranked Metatron too many times. I'm not sure who has less self-perservation, Sam or Ashley. Also, and I can't stress this enough, seeing all the friends evolve has been really wonderful. Finding out WHY Sam and Celica dislike each other, Celica's motivations in general, Metatron slowly understanding emotions and her attachment to Sarah and MAYBE Ashley, it is really well done. Both trust and affection dialogues are really fun to read!
Attunement should block you off of the base elements too. The checks for those might not be working right, idk, I'll check.
The character growth is definitely one of my favorite aspects of the game, glad to hear you were enjoying it! Metatron has gone through a lot of growth already, and everyone has their goals and dreams. I'm really looking forwards to explaining more of them, their pasts and futures, and especially how they all interact. Not enough of that yet.
Will fit in what I can of that this coming update, aside from the mega Deepwoods stuff and Metatron/Celica lewd starts I mostly just want to write.
Having gotten more affection and trust out of Metatron, Sarah, and Ashley I've really amazed at how detailed and thorough the affection and trust things are. Ashley had no problem talking about aspects but Sarah was... wow, weird to see her so mad about it. Ashley being Compassion and Greed seems odd but does explain a few things! It's also interesting seeing Metatron warming up to Sarah, almost like a big sister might. Rather suspect Ashley and Metatron will never really get along though...
One thing I was curious on, when you first start out going to Badon, Ashley is willing to do sex battle training, but that option is not available for Sarah Is it because Ashley is just more open about it, will Sarah eventually be able to sex battle the the player, will they tag team the MC... (no! Bad musical! Don't let fantasy get in the way!) ANYWAY, what's the story on why Sarah starts off not being able to sex battle? I'm just curious.
Hey, glad you're enjoying the character interactions! They're honestly my favorite part of the game to work on. I can't wait to do more between the girls as well haha, Sarah and Metatron in particular.
Ashley and Metatron... well, you might enjoy the next update if you're interested in that.
As for sex battles - the honest answer is that they're coded very poorly, take a lot of work, and (imo) all feel too similar. I have a plan to fix that in the next few months, but until then I don't want to add any more on the current, mediocre system.
Rest assured that Sarah will get a proper one, making full use of her various... attributes, when that gets fixed.
Group 'battles' will be possible then too!
I have a request, could you put the soundtrack on youtube? I have the demi human song and Celica's theme stuck in my head and I want to listen to them when not at my pc.

The versions I use in the game are compressed, but you can find them in the game/audio folder in the meantime! Celica and Maya's themes are named as such until such time as I decide their 'official' names.

No worries just checking in, Might I recommend naming Celica's "The Curious Mage" or something like that I feel the word curious really fits how it sounds.
Now, I love reading but damn does training magic have SO much of it I found it hard to read things after a while and sadly had to put the game down. This not to say the reading is bad as I love it and it has made me laugh quite a bit. The only advice I'd give is to try to make the unique character encounters a bit less challenging I got two shot by the girl at the bridge. '
Also I'd like to ask if the slots of magic also count towards any progression of magic like going from one rank in fire to another, I ask because I used all of mine to learn all the magic and I don't know if it's the type of thing where you can be jack of all trades but not very good at any of them type of deal.
Wind and Aether magic can get pretty wordy, since they're very technical. Most of the others aren't as bad. Glad to hear you enjoyed the writing overall!
Right now there's only one rank of each magic, but there will be more ranks in the future, and they'll also take attunement slots. As a mage, it should be fine to pick up one rank of most, but you probably won't be able to supermax every element in the long term. Definitely won't have the trait points for it anyways haha.
In terms of Aether and Nether magic I just decided to not mess with that in fear of long term consequences.
The storywriting is totally ultimate here, but there are not enough visuals, graphics, the things to took at (you now why)
Anyway, this game seem to have a lot of potential, so thanks for it :)

I just wish I wouldn't be just a NEET, so I could contribute to great games like this. Because damn sure I have a lot of free time, I may as well try to learn how to draw some artwork for this game, but honestly I can promise nothing.
Anyway, I suppose there should be at least some pepole who are interested in contributing free artwork for this game. Maybe it would be good to add some notice to some game menu, that you are looking for free artists, just in case you accept any third-party artwork at all. As I remember there was a scene with Sarah, that really looked like it was made by some other artist, beacuse Sarah does not have a red colored stripe in her hair on her standing images.

I am spending basically everything I get from patreon on commissions so we're slowly getting art/music sorted - a fair number of character themes are custom work now, and I'm working with a number of artists for backgrounds, character art, and CGs. Reaching out to two possibilities today actually.
Not sure what the legality of free art is, especially for commercial usage - I'll check into it. We've gotten some really nice fanart over time though, so maybe?
Cool, I'm also not sure about the legal stuff, but maybe I can try to point you in the right direction, as I already have some slight clues about it.
In case you would like to protect the third-party assets contributed into your project from being NTR-ed away by copyright lunatic trolls, then you may need to make your contributors sign a so called "CLA", that means "Contributor License Agreement", what would make it sure, that you are allowed to use the third-party assets in your project, while the contributors can also be happy about their rights. At least I suppose it works this way in case of big and important open source projects. The huge drawback of this is that the thing makes it impossible to accept stuff from random anonymous pepole on the internet, so I would advise against it.
A probably much better way to be legally cool, is to formally define in lawyerspeak some kind of general auto-applying policy on every third-party contributions you may receive. For example make a public statement of that everyone who posts into some kind of special forum topic on your discord, accepts to allow you to use their stuff under a Creative Commons license. I know that it doesn't sound very convincig this way, but for example have a look here, to see how the thing actually works anyway.
But sure you need a lawyer for this, and that would mean again, the need for more money.
So, back to the topic on money. There is a common saying in my country, which if translated to english means something like this:
"It's better to stand on two legs than one."
So, I mean that I noticed, you do not have a subscribestar account, and only rely on patreon for getting money. It's rather common amongst adult games to also accept support through https://subscribestar.adult/ , just in case patreon goes mad on them for whatever reason. I also mean that I have encountered some games which were ruined by the silly censorship of patreon, so even if I would have the money to donate, I would very much prefer to avoid giving it through patreon.
Also it would be additionalaly cool to have an alternative, for those who may not wanna subscribe, instead just give you a simple one-time donation, not only through the itch-paypal solution.
For example https://www.buymeacoffee.com/ provides other options than paypal. I've seem some adult games use it, and buymeacoffe seem to be okay with it as long as nothing lewd is posted on their own website, so it may be worth a try.

'Astaroth' is drawn from demonology. The MC is named Astaroth for a variety of reasons, some better than others, but I always thought Astaroth in demonology seemed like a surprisingly cool dude; teaches math and science, and the worst thing about him is laziness.

Different topic, so new thread! Just want to say that I appreciate that you don't assume players are going to want X path and write the X path well, but Y and Z have little content because "X is the way it's supposed to go". I know a few developers that have done this and it irritates me. Want to further the plot, you HAVE to interact with someone that you dislike or don't care for. Here, I don't see that. Using the "Sam or Sarah or Ashley before dinner?" example, each is well written, has interesting components, and are fun. (Sarah, Fashion Model!)
I also like that you portray the succubi as more than just "great at sex" and your best bud as more than just "irritating but reliable". Sarah and Ashley have hopes and dreams that are shown. The way you portray Metatron (hey!! I didn't instantly go to Megatron this time!!) as "weapon that slowly realizes she's more than that" and Sam and Celica are both shown as more than just "friends with zero backstory or motivations". I really do love this game!
Yeah, I always hated that stuff myself, but it also adds a LOT of work to have multiple meaningful branches, so I try to find a balance.
I strongly agree on the required progression though - it makes sense for a Sarah/Metatron threesome to require progress with both, but if you just want to pursue Metatron, a core scene shouldn't require you to also have 40 affection with Sarah. It annoys me when games tie them together TOO much, though I usually like most of the girls anyways.
Anyone who hates Sarah is wrong, though. Cute little dorky fashion model.
Character depth is definitely a primary goal of the game, that hopefully becomes even more clear over the camp trust/affection scenes. I'm still learning a lot of this, but I really want them to feel like people, individuals with their own problems and goals and desires; sometimes you can help them out, sometimes they just gotta figure it out themselves, and sometimes they help each other figure it out.
Megatr-sorry I mean Metatron is a lot of fun to write, as an aside. Her camp affection scenes have been a blast. Here's hoping her romance stuff (and the CG) next update goes well!

No worries on Sarah, I think she's my favorite of the initial group, maybe because she's the most "normal" of the group? I mean, the others are a best bud with no self-preservation, a succubus with almost no filter, an archangel that slowly learning to be more than just a weapon. Celica joins the next day but she's somewhat reserved at first.
I know it makes for more work to have multiple good branches, but I like the way that you've presented everything so far!
I ran into something, When you are returning to the village the first night, before Celica joins. "...giving Ashley a chance to talk probably start another war," It would make more sense in saying "probably will start another war". Small thing, but it just seems more right to me.
When do you expect to do a revamp of the earlier stuff? Some of the early banter is still quite funny! ("You got a licence for that snark?" as an example)

On the revamp... it'll depend a bit on when I can get art for a new girl. I'd say definitely this year is the goal, though. I want to have a strong plan and a clear goal before I start, so I can finish it in one update cycle rather than getting stuck on revamps forever like some games lol.

Enjoying the game greatly something I was a bit stumped on looking through the traits trying to figure out how I want to build my character, what is Kovomancy exactly?
Celica's wind training explains it in much more detail, but kovomancy is a school of Wind magic, essentially wind blades - focused on crits and bleeds, mostly scaling with a mix of Magic and Focus stats. Aeromancy is your normal wind magic, focused more on multihits and attacking first.
Thank you very much for the answer! I hadn't done the different school conversations yet as I was going physical so far. That sounds like my jam though, love dot builds and am greatly enjoying the game and looking forward to more.
On another note, while it may be intentional because of the fact your doubling down it feels a bit weird to have weapon/archetype specific boosts from traits often be weighted the same as generic ones. example the 10% physical crit chance from precision, and 10% crit chance with daggers from lethality. Even more so when the generic crit one is available at a lower stat value.
P.S. Poking around with wind now, Aerial Edge A and B descriptions seem wonky. B has the same description as base unless my sleep addled brain is missing something, and A has the same description just a bleed duration listed which is hard to value when the other 2 versions do not list duration.

Generic traits weren't very well planned out honestly, at some point I'll go back and rebalance them a bit. Some are meant to just be a bit more easily available than others though.
Aerial Edge description was bugged, one increases the duration to 9 turns (so you can just have a bleed up, since some traits/abilities get stronger vs bleeding enemies), the other inflicts a stronger bleed (for more damage. Fixed for 0.20.
UGH 12 days without internet... Sam, Ashley, don't push things without knowing what they do! (In actuality, it was a huge outage that took awhile to fix)
Replaying from the start, I noticed a few things: I forgot how much I love the writing, and as you've added more graphics, the HP for things I'm fighting disappeared. Not a big deal, but it's mildly annoying wondering how much I have left to kill things!
I'm deciding who's more zany: Ashley or Sam, it's a toss-up! Now, if I could just quit calling Metatron Megatron...

Good news on the HP thing! Exact damage numbers are being introduced in 0.20, for both heals and damage. Enemy health bars I have a tentative plan for, but that's probably 0.21.

Ashley and Sam are both goofballs, though I think Sam is probably the more genuinely lighthearted of the two. Ashley is better at clapping back though.

The portraits popping up when a character spoke was surprisingly useful. Helped clarify who is saying what and also gave an impression of more emotion and attachment, its hard to look at the character further up the screen and read the dialogue at the same time!

I had a lot of fun with the church scenes, the priest and Metatron were both a lot of fun to write, as were the events. The bridge between faith and fanaticism is something I've tried to reflect in her character, felt a bit more interesting than blind zealotry.
Sam can be surprisingly mature... at times. Mostly I just want each romance to feel genuinely different, and true to the character, rather than just have the MC always go in and fix their problems.
Ina art was my bad, a victim of poor planning and a stressful release week. In retrospect I should have ensured she got more last update, but she definitely will this update. She has a ridiculous number of expressions.
Good to hear the portraits are working out too, I completely agree with that last line and have generally gotten very positive feedback on the change. Glad those hours spent fucking with images wasn't wasted haha.
I forgot to mention Celica's Wind training. It was good but splitting it up into so many different schools of thought did make it a loooonnngg read. I got impatient and skim read a lot of it.
I do really like Celica though, I feel a lot of empathy for her since I'm a rather negative person. Pessimistic.

I kinda had a feeling it might be a bit too verbose for some, it's the longest training overall at around 14k words. Celica is an angel regardless, I always enjoy writing her and her malfunctions.

My opinion on Celica is that she can be very harsh, even cruel, if you fuck with her or those few she cares about. She likes to hide behind layers of cynicism and a bad temper.
But the reason she is the way she is, its because she cares too much not because she doesn't.
Yeah, I think I agree. She can be pretty... intense, but it's from a place of strong emotion and defending things (even if they're unhealthy), rather than innate cruelty or meanness.

How do I activate the new lewd scenes with Ashley and Sarah? I know from your description that they are at evening and night, but not how to activate them. I tried looking in their conversation options.
Do I need to have a certain amount affection to make the option appear? Is it in the 'Hang Out' or 'Rest' options?
8 affection for each. Next update hopefully, I will extend the character-visit UI to evening and night scenes so the requirements will be clearly visible.

Sarah's scene finally brought home to me that she is the Queen of BJ's. What I mean by that is that, back at the Temple, I thought it was that she felt a little uncomfortable so she settled with a BJ rather than jumping right into sex. Now I think its that she really likes BJ's.
Funny thing is, you're right on both counts haha. She was worried at first, but she also really likes you (by 8 aff) and does generally enjoy blowjobs, so it works out especially well.

It is really cute and hawt! Anyways my final impression of this release is thats its very good. Im very satisfied and happy with it.
Not sure about the changes to combat yet, but in general I didnt notice anything that was really unbalanced. I liked the change to buff maintenance so far. I havent explored every option yet though, partly because Im not a fan of every character build. So I'll have to judge stuff as I come to it still.
In the end I think there were some pretty nasty combos as it is, before the latest changes, so Im not fussed about newly OP combos. I mean I could already freeze and then shatter a target into the ground while they cant do anything but stand there...
Things I'm really looking forward too are:
1) Finally moving the story onto the next phase! Lets get out of this damned camp already! LOL
2) A teacher for Air and Earth magic so I can try my Spear/Air Magic build! I Love Spears! And I think a Shield/Sword guy with Earth Magic would be awesome too. I love shields too!

DAAAAAWWWWWW!! She's adorable! I like how confused and awkward she is about the whole feelings thing, how earnest and honest she is too.
I also liked the hints of jealousy, that she doesn't really understand are jealousy and what that means. I also liked how Astaroth joked that she might be trying to keep Sarah all to herself! Might be true, y'know?
Might make for an interesting love triangle! Wait, can Angels be affected by Succubus Mojo?

Sarah/Metatron should be an... interesting... progression as well. The game as a whole isn't really meant to be harem-focused, but let's just say those two might be one of the exceptions. Unclear on how well succ magic works on angels, though.
Well it is already harem focused in the sense that many of these women are sharing the same guy. Some arent quite there yet but still seem very much interested in Astaroth even if they arent willing to share him, they have to be at least somewhat aware that he is spending nights with Sarah and Ashley. Its not like they are terribly quiet about it...

I think Im having trouble with Sarah refusing to cast Heal when in support mode. Perhaps its because she has more Buff spells to choose from, so shes caught casting them and ignoring heal?
Its a problem I've had with Celica in the past too.
Metatron doesn't seem to have the same problem.
Perhaps you might consider adding a 'Heal Only' mode?

Recently became a patreon supporter because the game has so much potential, with great setup for the plot points ahead. The writing of this game is great, with interesting lore, interesting philosophical concerns, and well fleshed out characters. This is definitely one of those games where you came for the porn, and stayed for the plot. That said, I do have minor thoughts over combat mechanics:
Vitality is a weird stat; because you get a flat 30% damage mitigation when vitality is equal to your level, its a stat you either put no points into it or max. Also, because of how the scaling works, its a stat that can only get worse over time; your 1 point into vitality at lvl 5 equates to 6% damage mitigation, but at lvl 10, your 1 point into vitality equates to 3% damage mitigation. The player doesn't get any tankier the more points invested in vitality, and instead becomes more fragile when they try to vary their stat points. Would it be possible to add flat scaling to vitality instead, so that 10 vitality at lvl 10 is the same as 10 vitality at lvl 20?

Glad you're enjoying the game as well, I definitely wanted to do an adult RPG rather than just a porn game, so it always makes me happy to hear people actually like the lore/worldbuilding I put too much time into haha.
Vitality is a weird stat I confess. Originally it WAS flat (0.4% mitigation per point), but that made it utterly useless earlygame and OP lategame. A few months ago I changed it to the current version, which lets it kick in right from the start of the game and is slightly less oppressive lategame unless you put points into the tanky traits. Since you get more or less mitigation when VIT is higher/lower than level, VIT buffs and dipping into it can give a variety of mitigation rather than just the flat 30%.
I agree it's not perfect, but short of making it even more complicated I'm not sure how to keep a 10 point dip giving too many bonuses forever; vitality traits are already arguably the best in the game and a 10 point dip there is far more useful than a 10 point dip in any other stat even if the Vitality stat didn't give any passive bonuses at all. I am open to ideas though.
Hey, Im trying an Air mage (Straight caster) and I cant get past the Mauthe Dogs. They keep knocking me out. I am avoiding the main force of them and trying to use Shock and Air Cutter to take them down but they out damage me and I dont have enough HP to outlast them either. I can get past the first one, its the second one that always seems to get me.
Any advice?
They do like 8 damage a turn and since Im not at full HP at the start and I have to get past 2 enemies I just cant endure it! Cant kill em fast enough, cant take the damage...
Its also before the first chance I get to spend level up points, so I cant buy new abilities or stats that might get me through the fight. Is Air mage just a bad build?
I had to completely restart and make sure I had max HP at the start of the fight and even then I had to save scum it and EVEN THEN it took three or four tries to get through it. I guess Wind Magic just sucks?
Sorry to hear about the trouble. The Mauthe Doogs were intended to be fairly dangerous/elite enemies that would have been nearly impossible to handle alone, but not overly difficult due to the pulses, and give a lot of xp before the boss. They may be too difficult overall though, since you don't have much opportunity to buff up before them.
I can buff the light pulses to heal/damage more to make the Doogs less spooky at minimum. Wind magic definitely needs fleshing out, it has very few spells and fewer good ones lol. If you start with Wind Blast it'd probably be easier to go the AOE route.
Thanks for the feedback - I'm not sure if the full wind training will come next update or not, but I can definitely look to give it a bit of love in the meantime.
Im going to give Earth Magic a go and see if that makes it easier. I found Wind Magic difficult to get past the Alpha Wolf encounter at the end of the first wilderness too, I would take Sarah so that she could heal while I DPS but she would get knocked out and then i would follow her...

As best I can tell from google, that is likely to be a permissions problem - something like a guest account, sandboxing, read+write not enabled in folder, antivirus, etc. Can you save in other renpy games? Can you try the game in a different location on your drive?
I'm having fun , Sam is definitely my favorite and I find her funny and the fire training was really cute.

I've gotten as far as "everyone starts off on the big adventure (to Badon)" and I'm wondering if there's any problem with spending like 3 weeks just building everyone's trust up and learning new stuff (and sex battles with Ashley). Correct, I started the game without a budget so I've been relying on Patreon to pay for art. Sarah's art is actually in progress now, but may not be until 0.18 depending on how schedules work out.
There's no time constraint currently. Time tracking is mostly to give some sense of duration to the adventure, though in some future content there may be time limits (ex. 7 days after you start a quest to finish it). But in general, you can just do whatever you want.
I ran across this and thought I'd go, I LOVE the writing! I haven't gotten all that far yet - the parents were just introduced to the succubus pair - but I love that you have each of the characters be fleshed out and have personalities (well, Metatron doesn't yet, but I think I can draw that out!)
The picture for Ashley and Sarah is the same, is that intentional? I was showing Ashley around the house and it showed Sarah's pic. Not sure which of them I like the most between Sam-as-female, Ashley, or Sarah. Sarah seems to be the most grounded, Ashley is talk first, think later, and Sam is just funny with her actions and wanting to act all heroic (but messing up).

That Ashley/Sarah thing sounds like a bug, definitely should not be happening. I'll look into it and try to fix it before 0.17.
Ashley and Sarah both have a lot of existing and upcoming content that shows various sides of them, Sam will get more too, though aside from fire magic training she doesn't have a whole lot right now. They're all good girls, or at least good-ish hehe.
I think the main thing that I've gotten out of this so far is that the MC seems to go with whatever's happening and has a "let's just see how this works out" mentality. Sarah and Ashley compliment each other nicely, and Sam and Ashley together seems to be fun (based on the MC's "I did NOT want these two to meet" comment) There's also wanting to call Metatrom Megatron a bunch, blame that on seeingf Gen 1 Transformers a zillion times!
Ha ha, I've gotten a few Megatron comments. I suppose that's something I should have foreseen, kabbalism is a lot older but ironically far less well known than our favorite Decepticon!
Yeah, MC is somewhere between a self-insert and an actual character. Whether that was a mistake or not remains to be seen, but I'm trying to find a good balance.
Sarah and Ashley are a great combo, Sam and Ashley... yeah, they should probably never meet.
Amazingly well written, kudos to you. Fun without being overcomplicated in its 'extra systems', meaning stats and such. Truly appreciate your efforts, and look forward to your being able to add artwork/scenes as you have time and ability (yours or otherwise) to do so. Absolutely, I would LOVE to add art, both portraits and lewd scenes. Unfortunately, my personal art skills are... not great... and commissions are expensive and slow.
With that said, I am hoping to get art ingame within the next few versions!
good to hear but I don't think people will mind rough placeholder art with a disclaimer it's placeholder art and will be replaced in the future other games like reavnger do the same as well im sure some people who play the game might have some art skills who might donate some rough art for free for a call out on game credits couldn't hurt to ask I would but my art skills are also lacking 😂
Yeah, I'm gonna have to experiment with the art thing a bit. Thankfully people have been very understanding so far about the slow introduction, but I want to smash Sarah in 2d as much as the next degenerate LOL. So now that Patreon is starting to go somewhere I'm looking into artists and can start to experiment with styles, commission costs, etc.
I appreciate the suggestions, I'm slowly improving and working on my own portrait abilities so that may end up happening as fillers over time as I commission real art. Kinda wish I'd started learning art 6 months before launch instead of 2 months after, I'd love it if I could just draw everything myself. Maybe down the road lol.

Thank you for the screenshot - I will look into it. Were you using the Support ally command? Which did you pick of Sarah/Ashley? I'll do some testing and see if I can fix it, I've had a few similar reports but I THOUGHT I had fixed it... I tried to make the AI smarter with 0.3 and brought this on myself lol.

Haha, well, there were about 3 months of development before I was willing to release at all, and I got soooo much useful feedback over February that I was able to improve greatly from the... less impressive initial showing. So many bugs to squash. >_>
